These are the rules of this site and must be followed. I will enforce them. I try not to make my rules to strict, so follow the one's that are here and we'll all be happy.
That said now to the actual rules.
I. Basic Rules
1. Please be considerate to all members and staff on SS. If I see any harassment of any kind on this board you will be warned and then if you continue your rants you will be banned. Really what's the point of putting down other members? And trust me, you don't want to get on the bad side of the staff.
2. Listen to the staff. The staff is here to help and make this place a nice, friendly community. It won't kill you to listen to them. If you have a problem with a staff member, if you think they're being to strict or whatever, PM me. If I'm the staff member you're having a problem with then still PM me. I will listen to critique toward me politely, as long as you don't bash at me.
3. Report a problem with another member. Same as above, except if it is with a member. Just PM me if someone is giving you a hard time. You can try to smooth things out yourself, but if its clearly not going to resolve please PM me and I'll see what I can do about it.
4. Please post things in the proper boards. This is a real loose rule and won't be enforced that much. A staff member would just move the thread to a proper board if you place it wrong. If you continue to place things wrong, and it seems you're just doing that to get on the staff's nerves then you will get a warning. The one thing we will be strict with concerning this rule will be advertisements. If you place an advertisement in another board besides the proper board it will be moved and there is a good chance you will receive a warning.
5. No foul language. Even though we all get a little upset and just have to blow some steam, careful of your word choice. Some will be allowed in IC, but is unacceptable for OOC. Besides there will be a chance that the flurry of words will be directed at someone. Now that isn't very nice is it?
6. Use good grammar and spelling. OK I can't be super strict on this, since it is my own curse in role-playing and overall writing. I do ask though that you double check your post after writing it and use the spell check.
II. Role-playing Rules
1. No God-modding/Power-playing This is one of the most common role-play rules and it will be enforced here. It is simple to follow and can get really annoying if broken. No one is perfect in RP, and no one likes their character controlled. I know it can be hard to RP in a battle thread, but please try your best sense and awareness of your character's skill and ability to dodge/attack.
2. All role-play threads needs be to 200 words. This is a literate-intermediate role-play and members are excepted to meet this requirement. I know sometimes writer's block will hit and you may not be able to reach the 200 word count. A few times is OK, but if you cannot average at least 200 words per RP post then this isn't the site for you.
3. Please no chat speak!! It is probably one of the most annoying things to someone reading a RP thread- having to read chat speak. It doesn't seem very smart or literate of the writer and looks messy. Just write in plain sentences and words and then the site can go round.
4. No graphic gore/sex. This is a PG-13 rated site and nothing should exceed it. If you feel you must have some graphic in your thread please make it in the title. Ex. [R], [Graphic Content], [! Graphic!] etc.
III. Character/Character Application Rules
1. No Mary-Sue's/Gary Stu's When making your character make sure not to make them perfect. No one is perfect and that doesn't change in RP. So just throw in some appearance and personality flaws and everything will be fine.
2. Put effort in the character application. If it seems you didn't put any effort in your application then it won't be accepted. Try to give at least a couple good paragraphs in each field. I want you to know your character well enough before you start role-playing. I am not strict on applications (unless canon) but I want to see that you at least tried.
3. Don't complain. If a canon was taken that you wanted or you think you did your application was good enough and it wasn't accepted, don't complain about it. It may be taken as whining and that will make things worse. If it is a canon then there is nothing that be done, if the person goes inactive then feel free to sign up as that canon. If you really think your application was viewed wrong then please send a PM to whoever declined it. Say your claim respectfully and state anything that will clear things up about your application. That is fair game, sending a whining PM is not.
4. No character limit. You may have as many characters as you see fit. Just remember to keep them all active. If you fail to do so, your inactive character(s) are at risk of being deleted. So have as many as you want, as long as you are able to keep up with all of them and role-play all of them.
5. Please only 1 canon. This is because I want to give everybody a chance to play who they want. It may seem a little harsh to some but trust me I come to this with good reason. Originals are just as nice to play as canons. If you think you deserve to play a second canon, then please PM me with your request. For me to accept you must 1) be active with your first canon 2) be active in general 3) have at least 50 post 4) have no warnings or anything against you.
